Adam Novak
Owner, Head Conservator
Adam Novak brings over a decade of experience as Head Conservator and more than 20 years in the field of art conservation. He holds a Master of Science from the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation and specializes in the preservation of modern and contemporary works on paper.
Beyond his conservation practice, Adam is a dedicated researcher, lecturer, and guest instructor. His work has included research projects at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, as well as specialized treatment techniques that he shares through lectures and professional engagements.
Throughout his career, Adam has successfully managed complex conservation projects for both major institutions and private collections, working with multiple stakeholders to preserve significant artworks. His expertise extends to the treatment of works by masters such as Edgar Degas, Egon Schiele, Pablo Picasso, Agnes Martin, David Hammons, and Keith Haring, among others.
A long-standing member and Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation, he collaborates directly with collectors, galleries, and institutions in New York City and beyond to safeguard the integrity of modern and contemporary art.
Stephanie Prussin
Assistant Conservator
Stephanie Prussin is a conservator at Novak Studios and the collections manager for renowned photographer Lee Friedlander. With an M.F.A. in Visual Art from Columbia University and a B.A. in Art with a minor in Art History from the University of California, Santa Cruz, she has built a distinguished career in art conservation and archival management.
Stephanie has worked closely with many living artists and conservators, bringing both technical expertise and a deep appreciation for the creative process to her conservation work. Passionate about the scientific aspects of art preservation, she specializes in maintaining and restoring fine art collections, ensuring their longevity for future generations.
